Things I Use
I use Arch linux on my laptop.
I like the minimalism and DIY philosophy of it. I used ubuntu in the past, and really dont like the feel of not knowing whats running on my computer. Though ironically, after few years of using Arch, i also dont know whats running on my computer 😅.
I use tiling window manager.
Which one is it doesnt matter. I currently use sway because it just worksâ„¢. as long as it is tiling, i can go with it.
For text editor, i use kakoune. Although It is not as popular as neovim or emacs, it is a very good and capable text editor. I use it for programming and casual writing. I think selection-based paradigm should be the default for a keyboard centric editor.
Now for my keyboard layout, i use Night layout. It is pretty niche i think to use layout other than qwerty. I initially tried colemak, and then got sucked into the keyboard layout rabbit hole. I learn lots of thing about keyboard ergonomics (Split keyboard, better layout). I chose Night layout because it has low redirect stats and thumb alpha key.
That is the layout, but what about the keyboard? I use regular 65% keyboard with unconventional layout config. I might write a blog post that go deeper on this. I think this is interesting.
